The end of another successful quilt camp. 5 days and 4 nights of creativity and laughter and good eats! Even though I had thought I would be learning more about my embroidery machine (machine needed to be repaired), I finished many projects and received orders to make more things.
It is amazing to spend almost a week with friends from all over the area. The sharing of ideas and techniques is so much fun...some of the same stories are told at every camp and we laugh just as hard each time. Now this time we've had vigorous discussions and they haven't been about politics because we can't go there and keep peace. So day 2 was differences of opinions on TV shows, day 3 might have been book favorites or not, and then day 4 - can't remember - symptoms of this age I've reached. But we know that nothing that is said will change our minds anyway!!!
So in an hour its back to normal life...tomorrow I get my sewing machine out of hock or the hospital. Going 60 miles to pick it up means I get to shop at T.J. Maxx and eat at Panera. Yay! That would be my reward for making that trek.
Now its time to get very serious about getting those Farmgirls Country Sale projects created, fixed, painted, and priced!
Hope you are beginning a wonderful week!
Take care,
Bonnie

Satisfaction and Thankfulness
My life is meaningful when I have challenges or goals. Some are little and some are gigantic. I'm feeling satisfied today - another of my goals/challenges has been met. Another successful Farmgirls Country Sale is complete.
I usually work alone...I usually work best by myself. But success breeds work and our occasional sales - four sales instead of our usual two with three completed - would not have been possible without the help of family and friends. They help us every year and this year all summer. Some have rearranged trips, some have missed trips, some have been late to work, some have lost needed sleep and everyone worked in the stifling heat and humidity to the point of dehydration. Thank you.
They need to know how much I appreciate their devotion. I need to tell them to get back to their lives even though I will miss their companionship and expertise. They are my team.
With deep appreciation,
Bonnie

We're gettin' there!
I have the most talented and hardworking friends and family! Kathy and Bev and Barb were here today to make magic happen in the Barn!
We had lots of help from the hubby and our son, Dave, too. They moved in our very heavy stove for the kitchen area - hopefully their backs will be ok! Then they went over to the neighbors to get the big blue cupboard (almost 8 ft. tall) that they gave us! It's so perfect and will hold lots of dishes. I get carried away buying dishes and chairs.
Farmgirls gettin' it done! Come to the Farmgirls Country Sale if you are in the area!

Making a Sentimental Journal
This weekend I began to make a birthday gift for my friend of 46 years. Neither one of us needs a thing but I decided to make her a journal cover. Who doesn't need to write down everything when you get to be my age and she is only 5 months younger than I am. So I thought it should come in handy. It was going pretty good but it was dusty pink. She's Italian...pink isn't her deal. It's my deal.
So on Monday I had to get to town to have my haircut. The roads weren't exactly plowed but I went slow and it was fine. After my haircut, I browsed our health food store that has wonderful gifts. Nothing moved me so I bought her chocolate covered sunflower seeds and came home.
Instead of working on her gift, I took a nap. Think I was putting off the project? I'm pretty good at that - still have my tax stuff spread all over the kitchen table. Then it was time to make supper...taco pie and by the way it was pretty good.
After supper I headed down the hall to come up with something. So for the next four hours, I worked on my labor of love for her. I finished it just in time to glue a couple of things onto it and get ready for the next day.
Next day: I am off to see my friend and spend some fun hours with her laughing and eating and enjoying each other's company. Yay!
Take some time to be with your friend - it does wonders for your soul!
